VIRGEN DE MONTSERRAT
Mare de Déu de Montserrat, o La Moreneta.
La escultura románica proviene de los Benedictinos cuando fundaron su Abadía el S.XI. Una de las leyendas cuenta que cuando la quisieron desplazar para construir su monasterio, ésta se hizo tan pesada, que lo interpretaron como una señal de que quería permanecer en la montaña, por lo que lo construyeron alrededor.

The statue was provided by the Benedictines when they founded Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey in the 11th century.
One of its legends tells that when they tried to move the image to build their monastery it became so heavy that they interpreted it as a sign that she wanted to stay in the mountain. So they build their monastery around.
Paintings on wood, according to the 12th century statue venerated in the Abbey of Montserrat.
