VIRGEN DE LA TERNURA

ELEUSA (ternura en griego), es la representación de la Virgen sosteniendo al Niño quien la abraza alrededor del cuello, y sus mejillas se tocan, en profundo vínculo.

Este ícono está pintado según la Virgen de Vladimir del S.XII. Algunas tradiciones sostienen que éste ícono lo habría pintado San Lucas.

Pintura acrílica sobre madera MDF 46 x 55 x 1,5 cms. Terminación barnizado.

VIRGIN OF TENDERNESS, ELEUSA (tenderness in Greek), is the depiction of the Virgin holding the Child who hugs her around the neck and they embrace cheek to cheek. This icon was painted after the Virgin of Vladimir from the 12th century. Some traditions maintain that this icon would have been painted by Saint Luke.
