Santa hindú, nacida como Nirmala Sundara Devi (1896, Kheora – 1982 Dehradun). Sus devotos la llamaron Anandamayi Ma, “Madre Permeada de Alegría” por el gozo divino que irradiaba su ser.

Anandamayi viajó por toda la India, teniendo encuentros con muchas personas, de su país y extranjeros. Entre ellos, J. Krishnamurti, Mahatma Gandhi, Paramahansa Yogananda (“Padre del yoga en el Occidente”), Swami Sivananda, (fundador del ashram Divine Life Society en Rishikesh), quien dijo de ella : “la flor más perfecta que ha producido el suelo de la India,y Swami Chidananda, su discipulo, quien escribió sobre Anandamayi: “Su ser mismo era Su mensaje y Su enseñanza”.

SRI MA, hindu Saint, born as Nirmala Sundara Devi (1896, Kheora – 1982, Dehradun). Her devotees named her Anandamayi Ma, which means “Joy Permeated Mother” because of the divine joy that radiated from her being.

Anandamayi traveled throughout India, meeting many people, from her country and abroad, including J. Krishnamurti, Mahatma Gandhi, Paramahansa Yogananda (“Father of Yoga in the West”), Swami Sivananda, (founder of the Divine Life Society ashram in Rishikesh), who said of her: the most perfect flower that the soil of India has produced, Swami Chidananda, his disciple, who wrote about Anandamayi: “Her very being was Her message and Her teaching”.
