He was an Eastern Christian monk. He lived in Palestine during the 5th century. He was a hermit and founded several monasteries, the most important being Mar Saba, a Greek Orthodox monastery. At the age of 50, he was ordained as a priest by the Archbishop of Jerusalem and appointed head of all the monks in the Holy Land.
His feast day is celebrated on December 5th.

Sabas el santificado (San Sabas de Capadocia)
Fue un monje cristiano oriental. Vivió durante el S.V en Palestina. Fue un ermitaño y fundó varios monasterios, siendo el principal Mar Saba, un monasterio ortodoxo griego. A los 50 años fue ordenado sacerdote por el Arzobispo de Jerusalén y nombrado jefe de todos los monjes de Tierra Santa.
Su fiesta se celebra el 5 de diciembre.
