Swami Muktananda of Rishikesh was born in Canada in 1960 and grew up in a Catholic family. At the age of 9 he met Swami Chidananda and was attracted to monastic life and surrender to God. At the same time, he studied engineering and agroeconomics and ran his own company in Montreal for several years to help his family. Finally, in December 1999, his teacher Swami Chidananda invested him with the orange sannyasi robe. The following year he entered as a monk to the ashram of the Divine Life Society, founded by Swami Sivananda in Rishikesh, India, in 1936.
His teachings follows the path of the Vedanta masters and unites the traditions of East and West by his own initial Christian education, thus showing the underlying unity between different traditions.
He lives at the foot of the Himalayas, at the Divine Life Society ashram in Rishikesh, India, teaching meditation and the philosophy of yoga. He has a retirement home in Canada. He travels the world delivering the message of non-duality, which transcends all religions.

SWAMI MUKTANANDA DE RISHIKESH nació en Canadá en 1960 y creció en una familia católica. A los 9 años conoció a Swami Chidananda y se sintió atraído por la vida monástica y la entrega a Dios. Paralelamente estudió ingeniería y agroeconomía y dirigió en Montreal su propia empresa por varios años para ayudar a su familia. Finalmente, en diciembre de 1999, su maestro Swami Chidananda lo invistió con la túnica naranja de sannyasi. Al año siguiente ingresó como monje al ashram de Divine Life Society, fundada por Swami Sivananda en Rishikesh, India, en 1936.
Su enseñanza sigue la línea de los maestros de Vedanta. Por su propia educación cristiana inicial, puede unir ambas tradiciones de Oriente y de Occidente en aquello que les es común, que solo se diferencia por el lenguaje.
