The icon of the Transfiguration of Jesus depicts his divine manifestation before the disciples who accompannied him to pray on a mountain. Many religions relate manifestations of divinity on the mountains, the place where heaven and earth meet.
Jesus is a bridge between heaven and earth. He radiates divine light from the mandorla that surrounds him as he converses with Elijah and Moses. A voice from heaven calls him Son, and his disciples do not know what to do. Peter proposes to set up some tents and thus stay in that light. Jesus returns to them to calm them down and asks them to be silent about the event. Subsequently, the light of Tabor inspired different currents of mystics and fathers of the desert. The feast is celebrated on August 6th. In the Orthodox Church it is very important. Tradition says that iconographers should begin with the icon of the Transfiguration, seeking communion with this light of God through painting and prayer.
This icon is a free interpretation of Jesus. For the prophets and disciples, I reinterpreted the icon by Andrei Rublev painted in 1405.

El icono de la Transfiguración de Jesús representa su manifestación divina ante los discípulos que lo acompañan a orar a un monte. Muchas religiones relatan manifestaciones de la divinidad en la montaña, lugar en el que el cielo y la tierra se encuentran.
Jesús es un puente entre el cielo y la tierra. Irradia luz divina desde la mandorla que lo rodea, mientras conversa con Elías y Moisés. Una voz desde el cielo lo llama Hijo, y sus discípulos no saben qué hacer. Pedro propone armar unas tiendas y así quedarse en esa luz. Jesús vuelve con ellos para calmarlos y les pide silencio. Posteriormente la luz del Tabor inspiró distintas corrientes de místicos y padres del desierto. La fiesta se celebra el 6 de agosto. En la Iglesia Ortodoxa es muy importante. La tradición dice que los iconógrafos deberían iniciarse con el icono de la Transfiguración, buscando mediante la pintura y la oración la comunión con esta luz de Dios.
Este icono es una libre interpretación de Jesús. Para los profetas y discípulos reinterpreté el icono de Andrei Rublev pintado en 1405.
