VIRGEN DEL CARMEN
Esta pintura de la Virgen del Carmen fue un encargo para una casa en la playa.
Pintura sobre piedra, 87 x 55 x 2 cms.
La Virgen María está de pie sobre una nube. Esto sería el primer símbolo con que la tradición la identifica: la pequeña nube que sube del mar cuando Elías busca una señal en el Monte Carmelo. Lleva en brazos al niño Jesús y viste el hábito carmelita. Va enmarcada por un jardín de lirios (Flos Carmeli).

This painting of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was commissioned for a house in the beach.

The Virgin is standing on a cloud, since it is the first symbol with which tradition identifies her: a small cloud rising from the sea when Elijah was looking for a sign at Mount Carmel. She is depicted holding infant Jesus and wearing the carmelite habit. She is framed by a garden of lilies (Flos Carmeli).
